Your Comfort is Our Top Priority

Feeling nervous, anxious, or hesitant about visiting an orthodontist is completely normal, whether you are seeking care for yourself or preparing your child for their first visit. At Stars Orthodontics, we understand these feelings and believe that quality orthodontic care begins with empathy, clear communication, and mutual trust to address these fears.

Our downtown Ottawa clinic is intentionally designed to be a welcoming, comfortable space where you feel heard, supported, and in control of your care at every step. From your initial check-up through every adjustment, our dedicated team takes extra measures to ensure your experience is gentle, transparent, and completely tailored to your personal comfort.

Complete Transparency and Control

  • Step-by-Step Walkthroughs

We believe fear often comes from the unknown. Before we begin any procedure, we explain in detail exactly what we are doing, show you the instruments, and answer any questions so there are never any surprises.

  • Fellow Patient Observation

If you or your child feel uncertain or apprehensive about a procedure, we welcome you to observe a patient (with their consent) undergoing the same treatment first. Seeing firsthand how gentle and safe the process is helps build confidence and trust.

  • You're Always in Control

You can request a break at any point during your appointment. Before we begin, you may ask the staff to establish a simple hand signal or cue so you can easily let us know whenever you need to pause or take a moment.

Gentle, Needle-Free Orthodontic Care

  • A Needle-Free Practice

Many patients worry about whether or not we require injections during procedures. Stars Orthodontics is a completely needle-free clinic. We do not administer injections or keep needles on site for orthodontic procedures.

  • Minimizing Discomfort

While some minor tenderness is a normal part of guiding teeth into new positions, active orthodontic procedures should never be painful. We work gently and meticulously to keep discomfort to a absolute minimum. If you feel any sharp pressure or irritation during an appointment, simply let us know and we will adjust right away.

Allergy Management and Patient Safety

  • Allergy-Conscious Care

We take patient allergies very seriously. While traditional orthodontic supplies can sometimes contain materials like latex or nickel, we offer high-quality, non-allergenic alternatives. Please inform our team of any allergies or sensitivities before your appointment so we can customize your care safely.

  • A Calming, Low-Sensory Environment

The sounds of dental equipment and bright overhead lights can sometimes trigger anxiety. We strive to maintain a warm, welcoming clinical space and are always happy to accommodate sensory preferences, whether that means adjusting the lights or changing the background music.
